How Notewell differs from every other study app
Anki, Quizlet, Knowt and Traverse are all built on the same assumption: that you will open an app and study. Notewell is built on the assumption that you will not. Below is an honest account of where each of them beats us and where we beat them.
The three differences that matter
Notewell reads the notes you already keep — Notion, Google Drive, OneNote, Obsidian, direct uploads, even photos of handwriting — turns them into open-ended questions, and sends those questions to you by email, SMS, Telegram, WhatsApp or Slack on an SM-2 spaced-repetition schedule. You answer in your own words, in the reply, and an AI grades the answer and schedules the next one.
Your notes, not a deck
Notewell reads Notion, Google Drive, OneNote, Obsidian, uploads and photographs of handwriting — in place. Nothing migrates, and there is no second knowledge base to maintain.
Delivered, not visited
Questions arrive by email, SMS, Telegram, WhatsApp or Slack. You answer in the reply. There is no app to remember to open, which is the reason most spaced-repetition habits die.
Graded, not self-rated
You write the answer in your own words and an AI scores it against your notes and tells you what you missed. Flipping a card and rating yourself Good is recognition, not recall.
