Notewell reads the notes you already keep, writes open-ended questions from them, and sends those questions to you by email, SMS, Slack or Telegram on the day you're about to forget. You answer in your own words and get marked against your own notes.

Three differences. You don't build decks — the questions are written from your notes for you. You don't grade yourself — an AI reads your written answer and scores it against the source note. And you don't open an app — the questions arrive in a channel you already check.

No. That's the part we're removing. Point Notewell at a Notion page, a Drive folder, a OneNote notebook, an Obsidian vault or an uploaded file and it does the writing.

No. It works for anything you want to still know in six months — coursework and exams, but also a language you're learning, onboarding docs at a new job, a book you don't want to forget, or your own engineering notes.

Connect Notion, Google Drive or OneNote, sync an Obsidian vault, upload .txt, .md or .pdf files directly, or photograph handwritten pages and we'll transcribe them.

Photograph the page and Notewell transcribes it with AI vision. You always see the transcription and can correct it before anything is generated from it, because a misread word becomes a wrong question otherwise.

No. The Notion, Google Drive and OneNote connections request read-only permission, so Notewell can read the pages you select and nothing else. It never edits, moves or deletes anything in those accounts.

A single page of real notes is enough to generate a handful of questions. Longer material is split into chunks, and each chunk produces its own set of questions.

Claude, working only from the notes you connected. Questions are grounded in your material — Notewell won't quiz you on something your notes never said.

You write your answer in your own words. The AI compares it to the source note, gives you a score, and tells you specifically what you left out. That's the part flipping a card can't do — recognising an answer isn't the same as recalling it.

SM-2 is the spaced repetition algorithm behind Anki. Answer something well and the gap before you see it again grows; struggle with it and the gap resets. It means you spend your time on the material you're actually about to forget.

AI-generated questions occasionally miss the mark. Every question in a collection can be edited — the question, the hint and the grading rubric — so you can fix it in place rather than throwing the collection away.

Yes. Alongside open-ended questions, a collection can hold classic flashcards and longer challenges, so quick recall and deeper application both have a home.

Email, SMS, Slack or Telegram — whichever you connect. You can also review in the web app whenever you want, but the point is that you don't have to remember to.

Yes. Set your timezone and a preferred send time in study preferences, and turn on weekdays-only if you'd rather keep weekends clear.

Reply where the question landed. Answer the email, reply to the SMS or send your message back in Slack or Telegram — your reply is graded and the schedule adapts from there.

Yes. Pause any collection at any time and the questions stop going out. Your progress and your place in the schedule are kept for when you come back.

Yes. One collection, free forever, with no time limit and no card. New accounts also get 30 starter credits so you can see the whole loop work before you decide anything.

You buy credits instead of a subscription, and spend them only when Notewell does AI work for you: generating questions from a chunk of notes, transcribing a handwritten page, or sending an SMS. Reviewing and answering never costs credits.

No. Credits stay on your account until you spend them, and there's no monthly minimum to keep them alive.

Yes — you earn 20 credits for every friend who signs up with your referral link.

No. Your notes and the questions made from them are never used to train AI models, and we don't sell your personal data.

Notewell sends note content to Anthropic's Claude API purely to write questions and mark your answers. Beyond that, your content stays in our own database.

OAuth tokens for Notion, Google Drive and OneNote are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and everything travels over TLS. Those tokens only carry read permission on the notes you chose.

Yes. Delete an individual collection or your entire account from settings, and you can request a copy of everything we hold by emailing privacy@notewell.io.
